Le Caprice
On the site of a demolished 1960s bungalow, this contemporary house was designed and gained Planning permission in 2014, completing two years later.
The scheme was developed to meet the client’s brief for a spacious family home, designed for comfort and entertaining, and to make the most of its setting, with far reaching views over St Brelade’s Bay.
Internally, it is filled with light and the site’s spectacular vistas. This was achieved by positioning the primary living accommodation at the top of the house and the bedrooms below, and by strategically creating openings to make the most of the site’s positioning. Externally, a natural palette of zinc, stone and various timbers was carefully selected to distinguish the intersecting and protruding volumes, to change over the seasons within its semi-woodland setting, and to contrast with its crisp, white render sections.
