Bas du Mont

Godel architects were appointed by the States of Jersey to undertake a feasibility study into options for the redevelopment of this block of flats which, built in the 1950’s, had fallen into disrepair and had gained something of an unsavoury reputation.

After considering various options, one of which proposed total demolition and rebuild, it was decided to work broadly within the existing building envelope, but to undertake works which would bring the flats up to modern day standards of accommodation and environmental performance, which would improve security, and which would significantly upgrade the external appearance of the building.
The building received a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Jersey Design Awards of 2006.
